Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

This was perhaps the worst RE movie so far.  I am incredibly tolerant of crap as long as it entertains.  The plot made little sense, if you enjoyed the zombie theme of the other movies don’t expect much from this one.

Much of the plot was just illogical and “weak”. Sure, the beginning of the movie starts out with a bang; the Alice we have all come to know. Then, the bottom drops out. Alice flying around the west coast of North America – fuel, who needs fuel! The camcorder! The batteries last for 50 years on 1 charge, right! Let’s take 200 torches and keep them lit 24/7 for 4 years. Shoot guns without reload them! I could name a dozen more.

I am, perhaps one of a few, who don’t want to see all my movies in 3D. I count only 3 scenes made exclusively to be viewed in 3D.  Do you guys know why every movies is in 3D now?  All the movie studios made a deal with major TV companies to make every movie in 3D so they can sell more 3D TVs. So don’t feed the beast, not every movie should be watch in 3D plus it’s more expensive.  Most movies are shot in 2D then transfer to be view in 3D.  Anyway enough of my ramp about the 3D.

Can someone please tell Hollywood enough with the slow motion BS that is turning up in so many films?. I think this movie, if it stood alone, without the RE namesake, it would have been a made for SyFy movie. The editing was choppy and many of the effects scenes left me saying -what just happened?

At this point I’m done with RE.  I don’t care if Alice lives or dies in the next one.  I think this franchise is dying pretty quickly and should be put to rest on the next installment.

Resident Evil: Afterlife was a real disappointment. I had a more enjoyable time during my last visit to the dentist. My dental visit concluded more quickly, was far less painful and I left with a free toothbrush.

My recommendation: wait to rent it and save yourself the coin.
